Alina Sikar-Gang - Research Associate


Alina Sikar-Gang joined Nanoprobes in February 2008 as a Research Assistant to help develop the biomedical imaging and therapeutic applications of metal nanoparticles. She has a MS in Biochemistry and BS in Biology from Chernivtsi National University (Ukraine), and extensive experience in biomedical research. Before joining Nanoprobes, she was employed as a Medical Technician at the American Medical Laboratory at Herzliya Medical Center (Israel), and as a Research Laboratory Technologist at the Bio-Medical Research Center in the School of Medicine at Boston University (Boston, MA) where she studied the role of lectins in the innate immunity and their response to microbiological challenges. Most recently, she worked as a Biology Associate in the Biology Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory (Upton, NY), where she studied influence of bacteria on biomass production, and hydrogen production by micro-organisms.
